“If it doesn’t add value, it is a waste.” Henry Ford
Wasting food. How many of us heard “Clean your plate” growing up or even the voice in the back of your head? You don’t want to waste the food, so you eat it all even though you are no longer hungry.
Think about this, you are wasting food inside of you, which will go straight to your waist.
Instead of having extra food on your plate you have extra food inside you, which results in weight gain, the feeling over fullness or discomfort.
I notice I will finish my sons plate without even thinking about it because I don’t want to waste it or if I go out to eat I don’t want to waste the food so I eat beyond comfort. The crazy thing is, either way it is wasting food.
If we continue to eat past being satisfied our body can’t use it and it can make it really hard for our digestive system to assimilate the food. Our body can’t use all the nutrients in our food and we feel, well, stuffed.
We have options: Box it up for leftovers, give it to someone else or let it go. You get to choose. You don’t have to comprise your body because you don’t want to waste food.
