 Day 3: Give yourself Permission

 

Give yourself permission to eat the foods you really want. What foods bring you pleasure? Go ahead and eat them, but as we discussed in previous days go slow and relax.

 

When we restrict ourselves from eating the foods we enjoy we are left feeling unsatisfied or deprived. How often do we think about them like crazy and eventually overeat?

 

By allowing yourself  to eat you are putting yourself in a relaxed state. You are giving yourself the choice to eat it or not. You are not automatically saying no, which makes you feel deprived. You could always say, not now maybe later. Give yourself the ability to listen to your body and trust yourself with food. 

 

If you do give yourself permission to eat a food that you really really want - go slow, put it on a plate, sit down, savor and taste it. Let your whole body be apart of this experience.

 

Our body is always looking for pleasure and when we allow ourselves to receive it we are at peace. Stop trying to fight with yourself or saying, “I shouldn’t eat this, this is so bad for me, I am going to get fat eating this.” Stop with the negativity, instead say, “I am going to enjoy this, my body is going to be nourished by this food, I am excited to eat this,” Feel the difference in your body?

 

When you give yourself permission to eat food, you end the fight. We need to stop fighting with ourselves. Trust me when I say, by allowing yourself to enjoy the foods you really want you will feel completely satisfied.

 

How often do we feel pressure to drink or eat when we go to a party. Remember you are allowed to eat or not eat whatever you want. Stay connected to your body. If you are feeling pressure, kindly decline. You do not have to do anything you do not want. A lot of times people want to see you feel like them or indulge with them, you don’t have to take part if you don’t want to.

 

What to do

 

Eat what you want or don’t. But give yourself permission either way. You will feel so much better, trust me.

 

Affirmation: I love and approve of myself. I trust the process of life. I am safe.
